April 23, 2011 The L.A. Adventist Forum will meet Sabbath, April 23, at 3 the Chapel. The speakers are Gil Valentine, Ph.D., Professor and Chairman, Department of Administration and Leadership. and Kendra Haloviak, Ph.D., Associate Professor of New Testament Studies, both of La Sierra University. The title is "Adventism's Julias." Dr. Haloviak will also be our morning guest speaker for next Sabbath.

The next L. A. Adventist Forum is Sabbath, May 28, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. The speaker is Smuts van Rooyen, PhD, Senior Pastor of Glendale City Seventh-day Adventist Church. His topic, "A Denominational Crisis and Its Aftermath in the Life of One Minister." All are welcome.

L.A. Adventist Forum, June 25, 3:00 p.m., will feature N. Michael Scofield, MBA, UCLA, Member of the Faculty on Health Information Management, Loma Linda University. His topic: “Adventist Higher Education in the United States: Which School Will Fail Next?” All welcome.

July 23, 2011 The next potluck and Adventist Forum will be July 23, 3 p.m., in the Chapel. Maury D. Jackson, D. Min., Associate Professor of Pastoral Ministry, School of Religion, La Sierra University, will be the speaker: "Adventism Engaging Contemporary Moral Issues: The Case of Two Official Journals." All welcome.

Sabbath, August 27, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel. A film presentation of “Hollywood Blvd” will be screened. The film documents the transformation of Hollywood Adventist Church from an inactive congregation to a growing and vibrant church, engaging the community, all the while asking “How can we be a people among whom God dwells?” Scott Arany, Assistant Pastor of Hollywood will be present for a Q & A.

September 24, 2011 The speaker is Gary Chartier, Ph.D., Associate Dean, School of Business and Professor of Law and Business Ethics, La Sierra University. His topic, “Love at the Center of Christian Belief.” All are welcome.

The L.A. Adventist Forum speaker on October 22, 2011, will be Dr. Sigve K. Tonstad, speaking on the topic of “The Lost Meaning of the Seventh Day.” Dr. Tonstad, a native of Norway, holds doctorates in both theology and medicine and serves as a professor of Religion and professor of Medicine at Loma Linda University. His wife Serena, a native of Baghdad, Iraq, is also a physician and professor at Loma Linda.

They have two daughters: Linn, who, after graduating from Yale, teaches theology at Southern Methodist University; and Kristel, who has been working through UNICEF in helping orphans and children in Iraq and Haiti. All are welcome to attend the Forum!
